metalspread.com is a market data reference platform providing informational price analytics. It does not facilitate transactions or investment execution.

metalspread.com has no user accounts, no login, and no newsletter signup. The service is intentionally designed to minimise data collection. Here is exactly what we do and do not collect.

For the purposes of applicable data protection frameworks, the operator acts as the data controller for the limited processing described in this policy.

2. Why Data Is Processed

Processing is performed on the basis of legitimate interest in providing a functioning public market-information service and maintaining service security.

3. What We Collect Automatically

• IP-based city detection: On your first visit, your browser makes a one-time request to ipapi.co to estimate approximate location. The result is not stored by metalspread.com. The detected city (e.g., "Mumbai") is used to show local gold/silver rates. The detected city is saved in your browser's localStorage — not on our servers. If you're outside India or the lookup fails, we default to "India."
• Vercel Analytics: We use privacy-preserving aggregate analytics (non-behavioural) via Vercel to count page views and measure Web Vitals (LCP, CLS, INP). This data is aggregated and anonymous — Vercel does not track individual users across sessions or sites.
• Server logs: Vercel's edge network logs your IP address, user agent, and the URL you requested. These logs are retained for up to 30 days by Vercel for abuse prevention and are not routinely accessed by us except for operational or abuse investigation purposes.

4. What We Do Not Collect

We do not intentionally collect personal identity information such as names, email addresses, phone numbers, or payment information. We also do not collect:

• Advertising IDs or fingerprints
• Search queries (we have no search feature)

We do not track users across websites and do not build behavioural profiles.

5. Cookies & Local Storage

The site itself does not use tracking or advertising cookies. We use localStorage for two keys:

• metalspread_city — remembers your detected or selected city so we don't have to re-detect it on every visit.
• metalspread_cookie_consent — stores your cookie notice preference.

You can clear these anytime via your browser's developer tools. Third-party services (Vercel, CDN) may set their own security cookies as described in Vercel's privacy policy.

6. Infrastructure Processors

Some data is processed by service providers acting as data processors (hosting, CDN, network security). This processing is required to deliver the website and prevent abuse and cannot be disabled. These providers may process data in multiple geographic regions as required for content delivery. Some infrastructure providers may process technical data outside India, including in the United States or European Economic Area, as part of standard internet content delivery operations.

7. Third-Party Services We Use

• Vercel — hosting, edge CDN, analytics, and Speed Insights.
• ipapi.co — one-time IP geolocation call on first visit (their privacy policy).
• Kite Connect (Zerodha) — backend API for MCX quotes. No user data flows to Kite; we only pull market data server-side.

We do not use Google Analytics or Facebook Pixel. We do not sell, rent, or share any personal data with third parties for marketing. We do not sell data to data brokers. This site displays ads served by Google AdSense, which may use cookies and web beacons to serve ads based on your prior visits. 8. Advertising & Google AdSense

This site displays advertisements served by Google AdSense, a third-party advertising service provided by Google LLC. Google AdSense may use cookies and web beacons to collect information about your browsing activity on this and other websites in order to provide personalised advertisements relevant to your interests.

Information collected by Google may include your IP address, browser type, device identifiers, pages visited, and interactions with advertisements. This data is processed by Google in accordance with its privacy policy.

9. Data Retention

Vercel Analytics retains aggregated data for up to 12 months. Server-side logs auto-expire within 30 days. Since we don't store personally identifiable information in our own databases, there is nothing user-specific for us to retain or delete.

9. Your Rights

We do not intentionally store personally identifiable information in our own application databases. However, infrastructure providers automatically process technical identifiers such as IP address as part of standard internet communication required to deliver web pages. If you believe we have inadvertently collected your data, email us and we will investigate. We do not perform automated decision-making or profiling about users. You may reduce or block analytics measurement by using browser privacy features or network-level request blocking.

10. Children

metalspread.com is a financial data tool, not a product directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If a parent or guardian contacts us about a child's data, we will investigate and take reasonable steps to remove such data where applicable.

11. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the integrity and availability of the service. As a read-only market data platform, the site does not store financial or identity records. As the platform is read-only, the primary security objective is service availability and integrity rather than account protection. Continuous availability of real-time data cannot be guaranteed due to upstream exchange or network dependencies. Because the platform does not provide accounts or authentication features, users are not required to submit credentials and the service does not manage passwords or personal financial access.

12. Governing Law

This policy is governed by the laws of India. The service is intended for general informational use and is not specifically directed toward residents of any particular jurisdiction outside India.

13. Changes

If we start collecting more data (e.g., if we add user accounts or a watchlist feature), we will update this page. The effective date at the top will change. Since we don't have your email, we cannot notify you directly — bookmark this page if you want to stay updated.

14. Nature of Service

metalspread.com publishes derived market information and does not participate in price formation, trading, brokerage, or distribution of precious metals. References to jewellers, exchanges, or financial institutions are descriptive and do not constitute endorsement or partnership unless explicitly stated.
